Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
Due to the intricacies of life and each unique situation, Ministry to Women Biblical Counselling offers a no-charge 15-minute consultation to ensure we are the best fit for your care and counselling needs. It’s like a ‘meet n’ greet!’ We can do this over the phone or online.
How many sessions will I need and how often?
Since each situation is unique, we generally recommend people start with 6-8 sessions and then we can re-evaluate at that time. Many wish to continue counselling for a few more weeks, depending on the need. Most often people connect weekly or biweekly, but there is flexibility.
How do I connect with Jenn?
Currently, our best means of connection is through an online platform. I use Zoom. You will need to download this onto your computer or cell device. It’s super easy to set up!
What is required to meet with Jenn online?
For best results, meeting with Jenn online requires access to strong WIFI, a camera on your computer/device, a quiet place to meet, headphones, use of email, a printer and online log in access to mtw.soulcareonline.com, a portal that I use to ensure privacy for weekly homework assignments.
How long is each session?
Typically, each session is 1 hour, but longer sessions are available if it is in your best interest. The first session, after the meet and greet consultation, is 2 hours. This is needed to include a thorough understanding of your history and presenting need.
What is involved with each session?
Each session allows you time to share, ask questions and review growth assignments. Jenn will patiently listen and Biblically guide you in specific areas of growth. She will pray with you, share Scripture with you and hold you accountable during your time together.
What does a typical session look like?
Each 1 hour session includes a Personalized Weekly Growth Project uniquely designed for you in response to your time with Jenn. Jenn’s desire is to see you establish and grow in 8 areas of spiritual growth; these include time spent in God’s Word, in prayer, in renewed perspective, through tailored ‘homework’ assignments that include additional learning through audio, article, or Ministry to Women Biblical Counselling resource worksheets, daily scripture memorization, weekly church community and renewed stewardship that serves and invests in others all while helping you to rest with, rely on and rejoice in the Lord.
What if I need help, but can't afford the session fee?
We want everyone to have the opportunity to receive Biblical counselling. First, we ask that you consider the resources around you. We have found that churches, close friends and family are often very willing to help financially because it allows them to partner with you in the counselling process. Second, Ministry to Women Biblical Counselling fees already reflect a ministry effort to enable most women to participate in counselling with Jenn.
